Back To Basics was started four years ago by our own Jake Brown and Layman's Jeremy Stith. It's summer's last stand before lives become flooded once more with bland weather and for some overloaded education. It supplies a place for artists, musicians, and friends to gather and enjoy this last embrace with the long daylight and warm weather. Honestly though, in Jake's words it's mostly just an opportunity to "get down". This year the event will be housed at a barn-turned-music hoedown venue, Bob's Boogie Barn, out in Riverside. It sounds corny, but consider the evening: 10 hours of 7 bands from both the OC and Riverside areas, an art exhibition of 10+ artists' work, possible dance-party action, and even a hamburger/hotdog cart can all be enjoyed for a cover charge of only $3.
